More about this scene
One of the outstanding buildings in the area, Marske Hall was built in 1625 for Sir William Pennyman, whose descendants later settled at Ormesby Hall. Subsequently the Lowthers and then the Dundas family lived here, the latter eventually taking the Zetland title. Briefly a private school after the Second World War, the Hall was then given by Lord Zetland to the Leonard Cheshire Foundation in 1961.
