More about this scene
This post office and hardware shop is near to the church of St Andrew, the church hall that was previously the village school, and the Castle of Comfort pub. In 1966 Medstead's population was 1,200, and today it is 2,000. East of Winchester, it is one of the highest villages in Hampshire, 700 ft above sea level. There are some magnificent views to be enjoyed from here.
