More about this scene
The Victorian commercial heart of this cul-de-sac village, strung out along the back lane into Melbury Park, was represented by the Melbury Osmond shop. Members of the Watts family ran the shop for a century: the Misses Watts, from Higher Holt, were followed by William Watts and his branch of the family. The proudly parked JTK 775 is a nearly new split-windscreen Morris Minor.
