More about this scene
This hospital was built as a replacement for the cottage hospital in Bank Street. Mrs Ludlow Bruges of Seend was the benefactor who gave the hospital to the town. It was opened by the Marquis of Bath on 23 July 1938. In the grounds on the right were cottages for the ambulance driver and the gardener.
