More about this scene
A small fishing boat sails out into the calm waters of St Austell Bay, while larger boats remain packed into the inner harbour. A new harbour had just been constructed, only to be destroyed in March 1891 and then rebuilt in 1897. Black Head is in the distance. Apart from one white terrace, the hillside above the fishing village has since been fully developed for housing.
