More about this scene
Monks from nearby Jervaulx Abbey began the tradition of horse breeding in this dale. Behind the Georgian Manor House are the stables used by three generations of the famed horse trainers, the Peacock family. The streets of the village still echo to the sounds of racing horses on their way to the moors for training and a good hearty run.
