More about this scene
A stone keep was added in 1170, followed by curtain walls and improved living accommodation. The castle passed into the hands of the Neville family, and in 1471 Richard, Duke of Gloucester, came here to be tutored by the Earl of Warwick. Richard later married the Earl's daughter, Anne, and their only son, Edward, was born here in 1473. Richard was killed at Bosworth in 1485.
