More about this scene

This Georgian mansion, built in 1736 by Giacomo Leoni, the architect of Lyme Hall, Cheshire, has commanding views across the River Irk to Heaton Hall. When it was built for the Ashton Lever family it replaced an earlier hall built by Sir Darcy Lever and it was surrounded by a 700-acre estate. The Alkrington Garden Village now covers much of its former farmland.
