More about this scene
The Bell (right) has been an inn since the 1790s. Next door, Busson and Parkin, ironmongers, traded here from 1928 to 1968. The White Hart (centre) was rebuilt after a fire in 1910. The plastered building was Judkin's, which is now part of the pub. The corner building had the plaster removed in 1932, when it became Barclay's Bank. The Market Cross can just be seen in the distance.
