Mousehill Green

A Memory of Milford.

This picture is of Mousehill Green, Milford. You haven't a title for the picture, so I thought I'd let you know. I remember it from 1953 onwards, but this picture obviously predates that.
The green was often used for fairgrounds. The shop by the road was the Delicatessen, now a craft shop I think, not sure though.

The shop by the green was Burgess Stores (Now a craft shop) selling groceries and they delivered back in 1954!!! Not many people had cars so delivery was important. Mike is right. There was a fare on the green every now and then with dodge'm cars and wild mouses (Wild Mice), amusement arcades, shooting galleries and candy floss and you could meet everyone from the village there. Rogers the fish and chip shop (Right on the corner of the green) did a roaring trade every night I should think. I recon I won on the ball bearing spin machine overall.....?
