More about this scene
South-east of Crewkerne, past its factories and over the railway, is the village of Misterton, which lies along the A356 Dorchester road. R Sweet's shop is now painted white, and is the Misterton Post Office and Stores, while beyond is The Globe Inn. Helen Matthews, who wrote 'Coming Through the Rye', a Victorian novel not much read these days, was born in Misterton.
