Misterton, High Street 1958

More about this scene
East and south of the church, the High Street has a number of good houses, including the 18th-century Elm Farmhouse in the distance. Behind the cottages on the left towers the gable of the Methodist church, a grandiose building of 1878 where my great-grandfather was a lay preacher and leading light in the village's thriving Primitive Methodist church. To the left, out of view, is the former Temperance Hall of 1872.
