Growing Up
A Memory of Motspur Park.
I was born in Motspur Park on the 2nd Jan 1940.Lived in Tennyson Avenue until 1950 when we moved to Enfield. Went to Burlington Road infant school. I remember my father having an allotment by the railway station which is now there library, my mother worked in a bakery in the high street used to play there hide under the shop display with friends. Wisemans the newsagent was on the corner remember that very well.my father was a railway policeman stationed at Waterloo. On Sunday mornings I used to help him on the allotment he had to push a wooden wheel barrow from home to there with all his tools in it.My best friend john King lived in Arthur Road. Wonder what happened to him,if your out there still John loved to hear from you .
