Mudeford, The Sand Hills 1934

More about this scene
Looking out onto Christchurch Bay, Mudeford remains the centre of the fishing industry in the area. Sheltered from the worst of the Channel gales by Hengistbury Head, Christchurch Harbour empties into the sea between the quays and Mudeford sandbank. Salmon are netted and crabs caught here by local fishermen, and dinghies sailed by locals and holidaymakers alike.
