More about this scene
The church of St Winwalloe is hidden below the cliffs in the foreground. Although sheltered by the cliffs of Jangye- ryn to the west, the cove is still exposed to southerly gales; in 1526, the Portuguese ship 'St Anthony' was wrecked here. Timbers from the ship were used in the building of the church.
