Though I was born in London in 1938 I spent a lot of my childhood at my grandfather's home, then when he died in 1946 it became my Uncle's home in Bryncoch. The address was Glasfryn 132 Main Road Bryncoch, the house was nearly opposite the Lamb and Flag Pup. My Mother was born in this house in 1904, she had a older sister and brother. I remember this clock in the gardens, what I can remember is that it had a Toucan on it and I used to be amazed with it.
I was born and brought up in Bryncoch, a little village on the way to Pontardawe, it was the most lovely childhood. Bryncoch was in the middle of fields and a river and plenty of space to run about, lots of friends and then Neath Grammar School, which was on the whole enjoyable. I am trying to contact former residents of Briton Ferry, the Whiffen family. They lived on the now demolished street 'Lys yr Ynys' in the early 1970s. I am not sure if anyone will know of this family or where they moved to. I am particularly keen to get in touch with Margaret May Whiffen. Any help with these matters would be very much appreciated.
