I Sang In The Choir At All Saints Church During The 1960s

A Memory of New Haw.

I sang in the Choir of All Saints when I was a Treble from about 1964 to 1967/8. Mrs Marjory Bird was Choir Mistress and her husband Ken sung Bass in the Choir. Mr Fisher was the organist and during my time at All Saints the Vicar was Father Norman Kelly who came from Northern Ireland.

I was good friends with Ian Morrison and his sister Trudy who both sang in the choir too. They lived in the gate house at the entrance to the Research complex. Ian's dad had a really good model railway in a large workshop in the garden which I loved watching. I also remember Ian Runham and Anthony Shrub who both sang Treble too.

I really enjoyed my time in the choir and continued singing when I moved onto Kettering, Northants, during the 1980s where I sang Tenor at SS Peter & Paul. That church was a much larger one with a large all male choir.
