My Local Church
A Memory of Nork.
This is the church in Warren Road where l was christened in 1956, and sat through many a Sunday morning service. The vicar's name was Mr Carey. I used to attend monthly church parades with the Brownies and then the Guides, and my brother was a 'server' there for a short time, bearing the cross in front of the choir as they entered. My favourite time of the year was early November when the 'Parish Market' was held - the first sign that Christmas was on its way, even though Bonfire Night was barely past. As a small child l could hardly contain my excitement!
