Still a very pleasant open area near the church, the Green was once much bigger. One of the 18th-century vicars incorporated a large section of it into the grounds of the new vicarage with the Bishop's permission, enraging the local inhabitants. On the right is the old National School, built in 1838, but later used as a church hall and then as a community centre.

Hello, This picture is of my Grandfather Jock (Craik) in Norton. I'd love to know who took the picture. Its brought back lots of memories for my Mother and her sister. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Sara Marsay
