More about this scene
The great late 15th-century spire of Norwich Cathedral soars to 315 feet, the second highest spire in England. Its predecessor was blown through the choir roof in a great gale in 1362. The medieval Watergate was restored and roofed in 1947. The lane to Lower Close was originally a canal, used for carrying stone for building the cathedral in the 12th century.
