More about this scene
The hotel was renovated in 1936 and the façade was redesigned with plasterwork copied from the Rose & Crown at Saffron Walden. In 1967 it was proposed to demolish the inn, but the application was refused. However, in 1987 it was converted into a shopping arcade.
