More about this scene

The village centre with the Crown pub and the old church is a pleasant spot. To the south of the village, brick making has been an important local industry. However, in recent years plans to build an energy-from- waste incinerator at Capel have angered residents. Although the scheme was withdrawn in 2003, it remains to be seen whether it really is the end of the saga.

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

My mother died in 1943,when I was still a child. It was strange, terrible time but I remember vividly standing in the peaceful churchyard at the burial. The place is dear to my heart.
