The 18th- and early 19th-century cottages on the left face the timber-framed house, which was built as a single dwelling in 1540; it is continuously jettied with a hearth-passage entrance, or in other words an internal chimney stack is positioned behind the entrance. By 1834, when it was known as Kings Barn Farm, it had been divided into three dwellings.
