The title 'Old Guest House' may refer to the building which housed visiting clergy before 1856, when this was the rectory of the Chancellors of Salisbury, the patrons of All Saints' Church. It was renamed when it passed into private hands. The large partly ruinous chamber block dates to 1448-49.
