Old Cleeve, The Church And Village 1930

More about this scene
On our route towards Watchet we move inland to Old Cleeve, a village grouped round a triangle of narrow steep lanes and amazingly secluded. This view, from east of the church, looks towards Minehead; now the white pavilions of Minehead Butlins glow like intrusive whited sepulchres in the distance. A will of 1533 left money to build the church tower.
