Ollerton, Thoresby Hall, The Queen Victoria Room c.1965

More about this scene

This plainer room is one occupied by Queen Victoria when she stayed at Thoresby, enjoying the lavish hospitality of Earl Manvers. The house itself is no longer the residence of the heirs to the extinct earldom; it has recently been bought and fully restored as one of Warner Holidays Ltd's Historic Hotels. To the north of the house Warner's have built a brick and stone-dressed bedroom block and a spa and health club.
