First Visit

A Memory of Omagh.

My first visit to Omagh was in the summer of 1962, my mother was taken ill and to ease the burden at home, it was decided that I would go to stay with my father's parents in Omagh. My grannie and granddad lived at 4 Ulster Cottages, Drumnakilly, they were later to be re-named Fox Park?. My grandparents were the finest peopleI have ever met, their love, dedication and hard working attitude towards life was to hold me in good stead for my own journey along life's rocky road. The plan was to spend the school holidays over in Tyrone, but as they neared the end, Sarah Baxter my lovely grannie whisked me away to Donegal for an extended stay in the beautiful Emerald Isle.
