More about this scene
This assault craft-type ferry belonged to the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment at Orford Ness, 1959-71. Here they designed and tested triggering devices for the British nuclear bomb, using conventional explosives and centrifugal testing methods. In 1993 the National Trust purchased the 1500-acre site, which was opened to the public in 1995.
