More about this scene
Over Kellet is a village on the road from Carnforth to Arkholme. Here we see the two monuments in the village centre. The nearest is the old village cross, and the new white pillar beyond it, with the high railing round it, was at this time the newly-erected memorial to those who never returned from the Great War in 1914-18. Later the old cross was turned into a memorial for the Second World War.
