More about this scene
Of late Paignton has been greatly improved; a promenade pier has been erected, and the Esplanade – on which there is a band-stand – greatly extended. This charming resort should be visited in the apple blossoming season, for the cider apple is largely cultivated in the neighbourhood, and cider is manufactured on a large scale. Paignton possesses splendid climate and remarkably fine sands. The bathing, too, is excellent.
