Pony Holiday At Eagle Hall

A Memory of Pateley Bridge.

I remember staying at Eagle Hall in the early 70's on a pony trekking holiday with my friend. It was a fantastic place for pony mad girls! I remember the lady who owned it was Barbara Edward and she had two lively daughters who took out the rides. I think one was called Vicky but obviously it's a long time ago! Lovely to see this photo. Came upon it while looking for the walk that passes Eagle Hall and loops round through caravan park.

I also have fond memories of a school pony trekking holiday spent at Eagle Hall in the early 70’s. I enjoyed the experience so much i persuaded my parents to allow me to go back to the trekking centre to work as an apprentice groom.
I remember Mrs Edward and her daughter Vikky and the myriad of dogs and ponies who lived at the hall . Sadly my apprenticeship only lasted for four weeks as my parents decided my career path lay in another direction . I recently returned to Pateley Bridge on holiday and was surprised to see that the hall is still there although i must admit in a lot better state of repair than i remember .
