Air Raid Shelter At Lewis St School
A Memory of Patricroft.
I fell down the air raid shelter and was knocked unconscious. Some of the kids put me in a wheelbarrow and pushed me to the nearest hospital. I still have the small scars on my face. I now live in southern California in the USA.

Comments & Feedback
Just read your comment, it's very hard to find anyone that remembers the air raid shelters in the school grounds and even harder to find a photo of them.
We managed to gain entry at one time and all I can remember are long benches down the sides, and I'm sure we could see light at one end which I think was Liverpool road. Just out of interest do you know of any photos of the air raid shelter, would love to get a copy.
Take care Barry Wilson, now living in Australia.
