Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

More about this scene

A famous resident of Pinner was Horatia Ward, the illegitimate daughter of Admiral Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton. A child when her father was killed at Trafalgar, Horatia married Philip Ward, the vicar of Tenterden, and then spent her long widowhood at Pinner. This country town grew thanks to the passage of the Metropolitan Railway through the district, which attracted commuting residents. Pinner remains one of the most attractive towns in Middlesex.

Pinner Mid 50's

I was fortunate enough to live in Pinner as a small child 8 & 9 years old. We lived on 9 Nower Hill, and I remember befriending the railway station ticket lady. She and I used to go out to the parking lot (which was gravel back then) and look for loose change. She would be kind enough to give me rail passes, and I would go to the History museum, or Kensington Gardens, or the Queens residence Buckingham palace. I ...see more

The Ember Grill, Pinner Green
Does anyone remember this restaurant in the late 60s and 70s? It was a massive treat to be taken here by my parents as a small child and feel so grown up, sitting in the red velvet booths with white tableclothes, melba toast with curly butter. I always had lamb cutlets and creamed potatoes with peas. Would love to share a memory with anyone else who loved it too :)

The Red Lion Pub And The 221 Bus.
Before I moved to The Ridgeway in 1955 I live in Woodall Drive and regularly used the 221 bus to trundle up Paines Lane past my school, and ending up in the space outside the RedLion pub. I remember how the bus rocked each time the driver climbed in and out of his cab! Both the driver and conductor used to disappear into the pub, presumably for a comfort break, at the end of the journey. I seem to ...see more

Pinner Radio
I worked at Pinner Radio and Electrical Maintenance in Station Approach Pinner from 1956 to 1967. The shop was located at the bottom of Station Approach, next to a little tobacconist kiosk on one side and the old Victory pub on the other... I wonder if anyone has any memories of this little shop. Genealogy & Research Images

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
