This is the source of the Teifi, famous for trout and eels. The pools were mentioned by Leland, Henry VIII's librarian, when he travelled around the country in 1536; he also noted that the surrounding land had been cleared of forest for charcoal. The pools were mentioned in many recent local guidebooks as a popular place for fishermen.

My father was born here in 1900 at 4 terrace road, he worked in treorchy till 1921 , then walked to London and joined United dairies, met my mother and married in 1931, We had a lot of holidays in the village in the 50s and 60s My father died in 1965 Have very happy memories of bont as it is called locally Doug edwards
