Lever employed thirty different architects to create Port Sunlight's unique style. Not only was he an avid believer in property sharing, but he also believed that the well-being of the community went hand-in-hand with its success. To try and maximise this belief he introduced many schemes for the welfare, education and entertainment of his workers. The bowling greens here in Bolton Road are just one example.
