The fishing fleet is setting sail, and the watchers on the pier are dressed smartly, most notably the lady in the foreground. Porthleven was developed as a port to serve the mining industry, but the expected traffic in mineral ore never materialised. Nevertheless, it gave good shelter to a fishing fleet. The pier, which was rebuilt after a storm in 1824, has a guiding lamp that can be raised up a pole once lit.

School Trip At Whitsun
I remember travelling from Luton in Bedfordshire during the late 1950s and early 1960s to spend a week at Mrs Sampson's Harbour House boarding facilities. My father used to drive the coach overnight from Luton and we would stop in Honiton on the way. If we were early we would also stop in Truro for a short time. What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
