More about this scene

This working port is at the centre of the sweep of Mount's Bay. Its stone-jettied harbour was constructed at great cost, but Porthleven has never achieved the commercial success for which it might have hoped. The coast here is treacherous for ships, and in stormy weather entering the harbour can be fraught with danger.
