More about this scene
The Post Office is to the left, the Harris Public Library on the right, and the County Sessions Hall in the middle. There are a few market traders plying their trade, but there are no crowds of customers - it could be early morning before business has got going. After it opened in 1893, the Harris building was just a public library, with a small section of it used as a museum. Two years later the Art Gallery opened, and the whole building came into use.
