More about this scene
Created around 1860 and overlooking the River Ribble, Miller Park is one of several in the town, a welcome contrast to the close-packed housing developments that accompanied Preston's industrial expansion. A lady is pushed along in a wicker bath chair whilst others pause to look at the imposing statue of Edward Stanley, who represented the town in Parliament and became Prime Minister.
