Puriton, Middle Street c.1955

More about this scene
Puriton's brick and tile industry has now gone, but Middle Street is much the same today. Biggs' general store (right), now the post office, sits here above Good's Farm. To the left is the grey lias wall of Admiral Blake's home, Puriton Manor. The original house does not survive, but the great arched gateway does.
