Tylers Field

A Memory of Rawmarsh.

I remember playing footie on Tylers field and taking my bow there and firing it.  The best time was when the fair came and we'd go ont gallopers ort dodgems.  We'd use slope by Mr Carr's cobblers to go ont sledges.  Now it's a housing estate and theers no weer fort kids to play.

Hi
Mr Carr was my dad's uncle. Guess that makes him my great uncle ? I remember being scared of him because he and his wife were deaf and dumb, as they called it then !
I am a Rawmarsh Wright, my dad John William born in 1918 who had 8 living brothers and sisters and my grandad Arthur Edmund Wright born1892 who had 2 living sisters and a brother and my g/grandad William Wright born 1863 who had 9 living brothers and sisters and my g/g/grandad George Wright b 1838. I see a lot of Wrights in the local newspapers' and would like to see if I can find a link, I would like to see if I can take the family tree back further to the Mcintyre clan.
My name Ian Lines. Lived at 3 Marriott Place Monkwood from about 1955 to 1959 when the family migrated to Australia. Remember an Alan Wright from Marriott Place. Stephen Wright rings a bell - two sisters Irene and Jaqueline(?) Wright - I think Jaqueline worked at Woolies Parkgate. Were you their brother?
Angie Cawkwell - My name Ian Lines - had a friend in the 1950s called David Carr - can't remember if he lived in Marriott Place or Hague Ave Monkwood.
