Reedham, The Ferry c.1955

More about this scene
The chain-ferry at Reedham is one of the last survivals of its kind: it is a raft hauled across the river by means of a wheel pulling on a chain. When not being used by the ferry, the chain is at the bottom of the river. This is the southern bank of the river Yare, which is in open country.
