Denties,Ben Johns,Bussie,S Chip Shop.Hill St.Park Pound.Paddies Pound

A Memory of Rhymney.

I lived in Nursery Crescent 1950-1970. I remember Tyvies chip shop, Hill St, also Ben Johns shop where my mum would send me down to buy a cheap! ham bone. Also Planation and Forge Crescent. I went to Wellington School and Anxze Sec School at 1962-1965. Also remember Denties shop and playing in the hops at the top brewery. Also playing in the park and park pound, also Surgery Hill where I would go to lessons over the lawn side for lessons. Mr Woods was Headmaster, and Mr Lloyd at Grammar school. Remember Mr Biss's the chip shop and his sons, and the Milollies café where I would sometimes buy a steamed pastie, where they would stick a bag with my pastie inside up this spout, and this by magic, or so I thought! this steam like burko boiler thingy, oh with was nice, but soft!!!.
