More about this scene
In its earliest days the Carno ford was used for the conveyance, by mule and pack horse, of iron ore to the Dowlais Iron Works from the Ras Bryn iron mines. At 1093 feet above sea level, this area was one of the earliest industrial communities in Rhymney, although it is hard to imagine that now.
