Rock, St Michael's Church c.1960

More about this scene
The small church is on the north shore of the Camel estuary at Porthilly near Rock. There is evidence for a Norman church although it was much rebuilt in 1867. The low-gabled tower is oddly positioned, but the site beside the estuary is the most attractive feature. The tide is out here but high water comes right up to the protective churchyard wall.
