Rowton, Rowton Hall Hotel c.1955

More about this scene
Built in the 18th century, the Rowton Hall Country House Hotel and Health Club, as it is now called, stands at the southern edge of the city of Chester. Despite the removal of all the ivy, and the addition of an extension on the left-hand side of the building, it is still instantly recognisable. Incidentally, the name 'Rowton' derives from the fact that this area was once considered quite rowdy!
