More about this scene

Looking North-East This view was taken slightly further from the south-west than photograph W171036 (previous page). The frontage of the Angel Hotel is hidden by a tree at the centre of the photograph. To the far left is Strange's Central Garage with a petrol pump outside. Its workshops were reached through the side entrance. Next to the garage stands the building contractors, decorators, ironmongers and funeral directors, Trow & Sons. Parking problems did not exist here in these days in the High Street.
