More about this scene

We are on the peaceful, reed-fringed shores of Rydal Water, near Grasmere. Rydal was the home of William Wordsworth from 1813 until his death in 1850, and Rydal Water was one of his favourite lakes. This well-wooded little stretch of water is now in the hands of the National Trust.
