More about this scene
In earlier days, this port served clippers on a specialised fruit trade. By the mid 1930s, pleasure craft had achieved greater importance. Lines of boats moored in the river have become more streamlined, particularly the nearer of the larger sailing yachts and the cabin cruiser moored off her port bow. The different styles of houses reflect years of developing architecture, from village to holiday resort.
