More about this scene
This vital hub of the village was run for years by the Star family. They not only provided the post office, but also newspapers and the posters outside kept the locals abreast of events both national and local; sweets, chocolates, tinned foods, candles and basic hardware could all be bought here. With the passing holiday trade in mind they also offered ices, a small café and the only petrol pump in the village!
